Frequently Asked Questions
The frequency of dosing involves many factors. You should expect to have to dose once every two weeks during the summer months and once every three weeks during the winter months. This is due to the difference of sunlight between summer and winter. Also, if your pool is used actively with multiple swimmers, expect that you may have to dose more often. This is also true after high rain events.
Often peroxide will react with chlorine or chloramine creating a yellow/greenish color. This color will disappear in several hours. You can also re-dose as that reaction reduces both the chlorine and peroxides.
The use of this product gives exceptional water clarity. If you notice a change in clarity, add an additional dose. You may also test the water periodically with a hydrogen peroxide test strip. You will want to see a 50 ppm level. If below, dose.
Hydrogen peroxide, reacts to form H2O2 as well as other oxygen molecules that are healthy for the skin. Your skin, being the largest organ in the body, will transfer the oxygen molecules into your red blood cells.
It would be very hard to overdose a pool or hot tub to a dangerous level. Test using a hydrogen peroxide test strip. So long as the concentration is below 100 ppm, you can still use the pool or hot tub without any issue.
The use of PurBrite will mitigate the need to use additional stabilizing chemicals. The PurBrite product provides a known concentration of O2, O1 and OH which, in turn, keeps the pH and alkalinity controlled. This makes treating pools and hot tubs much easier.
